Course, logistics and policies
The course is just under one full loop of Prospect Park with a final sprint up Center Drive to the finish. All NYCRUNS courses are USATF-certified. The Festival Area is in the Nethermead and is accessible via Center Drive or the walking paths off Well House Drive. Bib pick-up and shirt distribution are at the Festival Area on race day. Start corrals are pace-based, assigned by letter AA-F and located on Well House Drive; corral assignment appears on each bib and is based on the pace listed in the runner profile.
On-course hydration and finish fluids include water and Gatorade, with cans of smartwater available at the finish. Portable bathrooms and a bag check are provided; bag check requires one clear bag (NYCRUNS may provide a clear bag sized 18" x 24" and may inspect contents). Post-race food includes a bag of pretzels, an apple, and an ice cream or ice pop treat. Handcycle and Wheelchair Divisions are offered; designation in the runner profile places athletes in those divisions. Results are emailed and posted online. Awards are given to the top three male, female, and non-binary finishers overall (gun time) and top three in each age group by net/chip time: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. Policies include no refunds or transfers; NYCRUNS members may withdraw for race credit. Strollers and dogs are not allowed, earbuds that hinder awareness may lead to disqualification, and celebratory confetti cannons are prohibited.
