NYCRUNS Brooklyn Ice Cream Social 5K
The NYCRUNS Brooklyn Ice Cream Social 5K takes place in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY on July 24, 2027. The 5K course makes just under one full loop of the park and finishes with a left turn up Center Drive; the course is USATF-certified.
A Festival Area is located in the Nethermead and serves as the hub for bib pick-up, shirt distribution, bag check, and race-day information. Bag check requires a single clear bag and organizers reserve the right to inspect bag contents. Portable bathrooms are available in corrals, along the course, and after the finish. Water and Gatorade are provided on course and at the finish.
Post-race refreshments include water, Gatorade, apples, pretzels, and a choice of an ice cream cup or a frozen dairy-free treat. Every participant receives a tech shirt on race day and a finisher medal at the finish. Race photos are available after the event and one image is provided as a free download.
Bibs are available only for pick up on race day at the Festival Area and require a unique QR code; NYCRUNS members may have bibs mailed if they register at least 20 days in advance to a U.S. address. Transit options near the Festival Area include the B/Q and F/G subway stations, several bus stops, and Citi Bike stations; parking around the park is limited.
Awards are given to the top three overall male, female, and non-binary finishers by gun time and to top three in each age group by net/chip time. The event is a qualifying race for the NYCRUNS Local Elite Athlete Program with published time standards for qualifying. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
