NYCRUNS Brooklyn Ice Cream Social 5K
The event takes place on Saturday, July 24, 2027, at Prospect Park in Brooklyn, NY. The 5K course follows just under one full loop of the park and finishes with a left turn up Center Drive. All NYCRUNS courses are USATF-certified.
A Festival Area is located in the Nethermead and can be accessed via Center Drive or the walking paths off Well House Drive. Bib pick-up, shirt distribution, and bag check occur in the Festival Area on race day. Bib mailing is available: NYCRUNS members receive free bib mailing (value $25); mailing is only offered if registration occurs 20 days or more before the event and only to U.S. addresses. Bib pick-up requires a unique QR code that is provided the week of the race.
On-course and finish amenities include portable bathrooms, water and Gatorade, and post-race refreshments such as apples and pretzels. After finishing, participants receive a finisher medal and an ice cream treat with dairy and non-dairy options. Every runner receives a tech participant shirt on race day; sizes are not guaranteed. Event photos include one free image download and optional discounted photo packages.
Handcycle and Wheelchair Division athletes are welcome; they must follow specific arrival and Start Line procedures. Registration fees vary by date; NYCRUNS members receive a 10 percent discount and other membership benefits. Results and awards are posted after the race; overall and age-group awards are offered for male, female, and non-binary divisions. Policies include no refunds and no transfers, prohibition of strollers and dogs, and time limits on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
