NYCRUNS Brooklyn Ice Cream Social 5K - Prospect Park, Brooklyn
The event on July 25, 2026 is the final 5K race in the NYCRUNS Ice Cream Social Race Series, held in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. The course covers just under one full loop of the park and finishes with a sprint up Center Drive. The course is USATF certified.
A Festival Area in the Nethermead serves as the central race hub and is accessible via Center Drive or the walking paths off Well House Drive. The Festival Area handles bib pickup and shirt distribution, bag check, portable bathrooms, and post-race refreshments. Post-race food includes a bag of pretzels, an apple, and an ice cream or ice pop option that may be dairy or non-dairy. Water and electrolyte fluids are offered on course and at the finish.
Start corrals are pace based and assigned by letter from AA to F; corral locations are on Well House Drive and assignments appear on bibs. Bag check requires a single clear bag; organizers may search bag contents. Race photography is provided and participants receive an email to claim photos a few days after the race.
Results will be emailed and posted online. Awards go to the top three male, female, and non-binary finishers overall by gun time, plus top three in the listed age groups by chip time. Handcycle and wheelchair divisions are included. Event policies note no strollers or dogs, restrictions on earbuds that impede awareness, a no-refund policy, and course time limits.
