NYBG 5K Fun Run
The NYBG 5K Fun Run is a 3.1-mile loop through the New York Botanical Garden that highlights garden collections and historic landmarks. The course passes the Maureen K. Chilton Azalea Garden, the Judy and Michael Steinhardt Maple Collection, the Lillian and Amy Goldman Stone Mill, the Mertz Building, and the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory. The event supports NYBG’s work to protect biodiversity and develop plant-based responses to climate change.
This is the second annual run and features an updated course design. The event is not officially timed, but the course is equipped with finish line clocks for participants who wish to track performance. The event is rain or shine.
Registration includes All-Garden Pass admission, event registration, a commemorative NYBG 5K Fun Run T-shirt, and on-site music and activities. Post-run festivities take place on Daffodil Hill and include meet-and-greets with the Boogie Down Bronx Run Club and NYBG staff to share information about their work.
Eligibility and supervision rules are specified: participation is open to individuals ages 13 and older; participants under 18 must have permission from a parent or guardian; unaccompanied minors 17 and under are not permitted; all participants ages 13 and older must have a registered adult present during their run or walk.
Tickets go on sale beginning June 3 with tiered pricing for members and non-members. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
