Nuclear Fit

Nuclear Fit is an outdoor fitness race that combines six 1 km trail runs with functional workout stations. The format mixes repeated short trail laps and high-intensity strength tasks to produce a combined endurance and functional fitness test. Entry options include Individual and Doubles formats, with relay and team opportunities also available.

Each event consists of six separate 1 km runs interspersed with workout stations. Stations listed for the event include tyre flips, farmer urn carries, plough pulls, milk churn carries, duck and throw bag throws and a squat and lift sequence. Chip timing is used with breakdowns for each run and each workout station to provide performance splits and pacing detail. Trophies are awarded to the first, second and third male and female finishers and all finishers receive a medal. Spectator access and on-site parking are free.

Training sessions are offered at various times through the year for those who want event-specific practice. Events take place in Brentwood, Essex, with site access described as about 15 minutes from the A12, the M25 and the M11, and roughly 15 minutes by taxi from Brentwood station or Epping Underground station. The event schedule includes dates in May, July and September. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
