Nuclear Fit
Nuclear Fit is an outdoor functional fitness race held in Brentwood, Essex. The format combines six 1 km trail runs with sequential workout stations placed between runs. Competitors complete runs and stop at stations that require strength and carrying movements.
The event offers these distance options:
- Individuals: 6 km
- Doubles: 6 km
Stations include tyre flips, a farmer urn carry, a plough pull, milk churn carries, a duck and throw sequence, and a high‑rep squat and lift. Station tasks have set distances, rep targets or weights that vary by category, and some allow brief rest periods during the exercise.
Timing chips record splits for each run and each workout station so competitors receive detailed performance breakdowns. Awards include trophies for first, second and third male and female finishers and finishers medals. Spectator access and on-site parking are free.
The event provides training sessions throughout the year, team and relay options, and league opportunities for individuals. The race site features a central arena with music, stalls, sports massage, and event photography, contributing to a festival style atmosphere. The location is about 15 minutes from the A12, M25 and M11, and roughly 15 minutes by taxi from Brentwood or Epping stations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
