The Watermelon 5K Run/Walk Eisenhower NSRF 2027
Registration not yet open for this event. The Watermelon 5K is scheduled for July 2027 in East Meadow at Eisenhower Park, Field 2, Parking Lot 2. The race is part of the USATF LI Grand Prix and is scored for teams.
Event formats include:
- 5K run and walk
- Free kiddie fun run
- Virtual option with time and photo upload
On-site amenities listed for participants include a personalized bib when registered three weeks in advance, event shirts (availability depends on registration timing), hydration on course and at the finish, public bathrooms near the start and finish, and post-race refreshments including fresh watermelon and drinks provided by event partners. There is no formal bag check; an informal area for belongings is provided but the organizer cannot assume responsibility for personal items.
Awards are given as watermelons to top finishers: Top 1 male and female overall and Top 1 male and female in each age group (14 and under; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80-89; 90+).
Bib pickup options include in-person pickup with event staff starting one hour before the event and a mailing option for $10 if registered at least 10 days in advance. Results are published live online, by email and text, with free video and same-day finish line photos. A portion of proceeds benefits the Never Stop Running Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization supporting athletic and charitable events and Olympic development for local emerging elite and post-collegiate runners.
