The Watermelon 5K Run/Walk - Eisenhower Park, East Meadow
The Watermelon 5K Run/Walk is a July event held at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow. The race is part of the USATF-LI Grand Prix and is scored as a team event.

Amenities include a personalized bib for registrations made three weeks in advance, event shirts (guaranteed for early registrants), on-course hydration and fluids at the finish, fresh watermelon and other post-race refreshments, and public bathrooms near the start and finish. There is no formal bag check; an informal area for belongings is provided.
Awards for finishers include watermelons for the top overall male and female and for the top male and female in the following age groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, and 90+.
Course location is listed as Merrick Lands / Eisenhower Park, East Meadow, NY. A virtual participation option is available; virtual entrants may upload a time and photos and receive event items shipped on the same date as the in-person event. Bib pickup is available in person starting one hour before the event, and mailed bibs can be requested for an additional fee if registration deadlines are met.
