NSRF NYC Strawberry Fest 5K & Half Marathon
This event stages road races through Prospect Park in Brooklyn, offering two distance options and in-person and virtual participation. The course includes a USATF certified 5K loop in Prospect Park and a multi-lap half marathon that uses the same loop repeatedly. Start and finish operations center on the Grecian Shelter, also known as the Peristyle, with the 5K start located south of Duck Island near St. Pauls Place.
Distances
- 5K: USATF certified single loop course
- Half Marathon: four loops; cutoff 2:45, final lap must begin by 2:05
Amenities include an informal bag check area, nearby bathrooms, hydration at the finish, and post-race refreshments provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. Participants receive a medal and a tee. Live online results, same-day finish line photos, and emailed or texted standings are provided. There are no awards; online age group standings are published and communicated to participants.
Bib pickup is available in person at the Grecian Shelter on event morning, or a bib can be mailed for a fee if registration occurs at least ten days before the event. A virtual option allows logging a time within a full week and uploading up to five photos; event items for virtual participants begin shipping on the event start day.
Public transportation serves Prospect Park and street parking is available on Parkside Avenue. Donations benefit the Never Stop Running Foundation, a 501(c)(3) supporting special needs, youth running events, and athlete development. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
