About the race
The NSRF NYC Strawberry Fest in Prospect Park, Brooklyn is a road running event offering two race options on certified park loops. Runners choose between the 5K and the half marathon and finish at the Grecian Shelter (Peristyle), where bib pickup and finish line operations are located.
Distances:
- 5K, USATF certified single loop at Prospect Park.
- Half Marathon, four loops, cutoff time 2:45 and final-lap start requirement 2:05.
The 5K starts south of Duck Island adjacent to St. Paul’s Place, approximately 365 meters northeast of the finish. Half marathon participants begin at the Grecian Shelter historical landmark. Participants on multi-loop courses must cross the finish mats each lap for correct splits and synced photos.
On-site amenities include an informal bag check area, nearby restroom access, hydration at the finish line, and post-race refreshments provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. Participants receive a commemorative medal and tee. Bibs can be mailed for a fee if registration deadlines are met, or collected in person at the Grecian Center.
A virtual option is available; virtual entrants have from the first day of the event and a full week to log time and up to five photos, and event items begin shipping on the first day. There are no competitive awards; online standings and texts or emails will list top finishers overall and by age group. Donations benefit the Never Stop Running Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
