About the race
NSRF NYC Strawberry Fest 5K & Half Marathon is a running event held in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, centered at the Grecian Shelter (Peristyle). Distances offered:
- 5K
- Half Marathon
The 5K uses a USATF certified loop in Prospect Park; the 5K is one loop and the half marathon is four loops. The half marathon has a cutoff time of 2:45 hours and participants must be starting their final lap by 2:05 hours. For accurate splits and photos, half marathon runners must cross the finish line mats on each loop. The 5K start is located south of Duck Island adjacent to St. Paul’s Place; the half marathon start and finish and bib pickup are at the Grecian Shelter.
Amenities include an event medal and tee, an informal bag check area, bathrooms a short walk from start and finish, and hydration at the finish. High quality refreshments are provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. A virtual option lets participants log a time and up to five photos within the event week; items begin shipping on the event start day. Bibs may be mailed for a fee if registration occurs at least ten days before the event, otherwise bibs are available in person at the Grecian Shelter.
Live results are available online, by email, and by text, and finish line photos and video are provided the same day. One hundred percent of donations benefit the Never Stop Running Foundation, a 501(c)(3) supporting Special Needs and Youth running events and athlete development.
