NYC Strawberry Fest 5K & Half Marathon
The Never Stop Running Foundation Strawberry Fest takes place at Prospect Park in Brooklyn. Participants can run through the scenic paths of the park as the summer season approaches. The event features a 5K and a Half Marathon, both of which take place on USATF certified courses.
The 5K consists of a single loop through the park. The Half Marathon requires completing four loops, with a specific cutoff time of 2 hours and 45 minutes. Participants in the longer distance must begin their final lap by the 2-hour and 5-minute mark to continue.
Available distances include:
- 5K Run/Walk
- Half Marathon Run/Walk
- Virtual 5K
- Virtual Half Marathon
The event provides amenities such as an informal bag check area in the staging section and restrooms located within a short walk of the start and finish lines. Hydration and refreshments, including sparkling water and bakery products, are provided at the finish. Participants receive a themed medal and a T-shirt as part of their registration. For those running the Half Marathon, pacers are available to assist with timing goals.
The race center is located at the Grecian Center (The Peristyle). Public transportation is recommended, though street parking is available on Parkside Avenue. All proceeds from the event and additional donations benefit the Never Stop Running Foundation, a non-profit supporting youth and special needs athletic programs.
