Event Details
The NSRF Fallback Half Marathon & 5K takes place on November 1, 2026, at Heckscher State Park in East Islip, New York. The in-person event starts at 9:00 AM and will be held rain or shine.
Distances & Options
Participants can choose from:
- Half Marathon (21.1 km)
- 5K Run/Walk (5 km)
There is also a virtual option for both distances. Virtual participants can complete their run anywhere between November 1 and November 8.
Location & Logistics
The event is held at Heckscher State Park, Field 4. Check-in is at the gazebo just east of the start line, between Fields 1 and 4. There is a participant cut-off time of 2 hours and 45 minutes for all distances; half marathon participants must start their final loop by 11:10 AM.
Amenities & Course
The course is a USATF-certified loop route. The 5K consists of 1 loop, and the Half Marathon consists of 4 loops. Water is provided at the finish line and is available for half marathoners on each loop. An informal bag check area is available, though the organizer cannot take responsibility for personal belongings. Public bathrooms are located within a short walk of the start and finish. Post-race refreshments are provided.
Registration & Results
Registration is available online. Participants receive a commemorative "Cuckoo" medal and a Fallback event t-shirt. Live online results, free video, and same-day finish line photos are provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
