NSRF Fallback Half Marathon & 5K : Heckscher State Park
This event takes place on November 1, 2026 at Heckscher State Park - Field 4 in East Islip, NY and is held rain or shine. It offers in-person and virtual participation options and recognizes age-group results online.

- Half Marathon (four loops)
- 5K (one loop)
- Virtual Half Marathon (11/1–11/8)
- Virtual 5K (11/1–11/8)
The course is USATF certified and uses repeated loops with the start and finish at the east end of Field 4. A cut-off time of 2 hours and 45 minutes applies to half marathon entrants; runners must begin their final loop before the race cut-off. Split timing requires runners to cross timing mats at the finish line on each loop.
On-site amenities include an informal bag check area in the staging zone, public bathrooms within a short walk of the start and finish, hydration at the finish, and refreshments supplied by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. Bib mailing is available for an additional fee when requested in advance. Finishers receive a cuckoo medal and a Fallback tee.
Donations collected for the event benefit the Never Stop Running Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization. Live online results and same-day finish-line photos are provided for participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
