NSRF Fallback Half Marathon & 5K : Heckscher State Park
The event takes place on November 1, 2026 at Heckscher State Park, Field 4 in East Islip, NY. It offers both in-person and virtual participation and is scheduled rain or shine.
Distances:
- 5K - one loop
- Half Marathon - four loops
The course is USATF certified. Half marathon participants must meet a 2 hour 45 minute cutoff and begin their final loop before that cutoff to be counted. The start and finish are at the east end of Field 4, with check in at the gazebo just east of the start line between Fields 1 and 4.
Amenities include an informal bag check area, public bathrooms within a few minutes' walk, water provided at the finish line, and water available on each half marathon loop. Postrace refreshments and giveaways are provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. Finishers receive a cuckoo medal and an event tee.
In-person and virtual registration options are available. Bib mailing is offered for a fee if registered at least 10 days in advance; registering about three weeks before the event qualifies a name on the bib. Live online results, same-day finish-line photos, and age-group recognition are provided. Donations benefit the Never Stop Running Foundation.
