Event overview

The 2026 NSRF Fallback Half Marathon & 5K takes place on November 1, 2026 at Heckscher State Park - Field 4 in East Islip, New York. The event is held rain or shine. Participants receive a medal and a race tee. Refreshments are provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. An informal bag check area is available in the staging area. Public bathrooms are within a few minutes' walk of the start and finish.

Course and logistics

The course is USATF certified. The race uses looped laps: the 5K is one loop and the half marathon is four loops. Water is provided at the finish line and is available for half marathoners on each loop. The event enforces a cut-off of 2 hours and 45 minutes for all participants; half marathoners must begin their final loop in time to meet this cut-off. Check-in is at the gazebo just east of the start line between Fields 1 and 4. Virtual options are offered; virtual participants may upload times and up to five photos between November 1 and November 8. Online results, finish-line photos, and same-day video are available.
