Fallback Half Marathon & 5K
The event is a road race held at Heckscher State Park, Field 4, in East Islip, New York on November 1, 2026. It offers in-person and virtual participation options and recognizes finishers across standard age-group categories online. The course is USATF certified and the half marathon is configured as four loops of the marked course while the 5K is one loop.
Amenities listed for participants include an informal bag check area in the staging zone, public bathrooms within a few minutes' walk of the start and finish, hydration at the finish line, and refreshments provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. Participants may receive event apparel and a commemorative cuckoo medal and tee.
Registration options include in-person and virtual entries, and a bib-mailing option is available for an additional fee if purchased with sufficient lead time. Virtual participants may submit times and up to five photos during the event window. Live online, email, and text results are provided, along with same-day finish line photos and free video where available.
