Event overview
The 2026 NSRF Fallback Half Marathon & 5K takes place on November 1, 2026 at Heckscher State Park - Field 4 in East Islip, NY. The event includes the following distances:

The race is held rain or shine. Participants receive a themed medal and a event T‑shirt.
Course, logistics and options
The course is USATF certified. The 5K is one loop; the half marathon is four loops. There is a cut-off of 2 hours and 45 minutes for all participants; half marathoners must begin their final loop before that cut-off. Start and finish are at the east end of Field 4. Check-in takes place in the Field 4 area (gazebo near the start line or the parking lot near the finish). Public restrooms are a few minutes walk from the start and finish. Informal bag check is available; organizers do not assume responsibility for belongings. Water is provided at the finish line and is available to half marathoners on each loop. Refreshments are provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water.
A virtual option is offered with a one-week window to submit results and up to five photos. Bib mailing is available for virtual and mailed-in entries.
