NSBC Spring Into Service 5K
The NSBC Spring Into Service 5K is an annual community event held in Griffin, Georgia. Taking place on Saturday, April 18, 2026, the race starts and finishes at 310 E. Poplar Street, specifically the parking lot across from the Griffin Stadium. This event is organized by New Salem Baptist Church and the Active Faith Ministry to support local charitable outreach efforts.
The event features two participation options:
- NSBC Spring Into Service 5K: A 3.1-mile in-person run or walk.
- Virtual / Ghost Runner Option: A remote participation choice for those unable to attend in person.
The course is an open-road route through Griffin, marked by volunteers and supported by local law enforcement. Participants can expect one water station located approximately halfway through the 5 km distance. While the race is not chip timed, a timing crew will manually record finisher times for the official results.
Participants who register by April 1, 2026, receive a guaranteed event T-shirt. All entrants are provided with a race bib and can attend a post-race breakfast provided by the organizers. An awards ceremony follows the event, with medals presented to overall winners and top finishers in multiple age categories, ranging from under 9 to over 80. Runners, walkers, and those with strollers are permitted on the course, though pets are requested to stay home. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
