Norwayne Alumni and Friends 5K Walk and Run
The 9th annual Norwayne Alumni and Friends 5K Walk and Run takes place in Fremont, North Carolina as part of the Norwayne Alumni Labor Day Weekend. The course runs through residential streets and begins and ends at the Norwayne Alumni Building. The route is primarily flat with a few small hills.
Proceeds support the Norwayne Alumni and Friends Scholarship Fund. Participants are invited to wear a T shirt representing their alma mater from elementary school through college.
Registration fees vary by age and membership status. Adults 18 and older pay twenty dollars for Norwayne Alumni members and twenty five dollars for non members. Youth ages 7 to 17 pay ten dollars and children 6 and under participate free. Registration opens January 23 and closes on the event date.
Awards are given to the overall male and female finishers in first, second, and third place with medals. A participation medal is given to all participants.
