Event overview
The Northside Nemesis is a free, non-profit foot race held on March 7, 2026, in Pittsburgh, PA. The main event covers approximately 30k(ish) and traverses 50 city staircases across several Northside neighborhoods. The listed meeting place is Riverview Avenue, Activities Building, Pittsburgh 15214.
Course and safety
The course uses many neighborhood roads and crosses multiple unattended intersections on arterial roadways. The route is open to the public and is not closed or attended by traffic control. The race provides small laminated placards to mark direction and paper maps at check-in. GPX route data is available for participants to load into their devices. The organizer does not provide medical or operational support along the route and states it assumes no medical liability. Participants are advised to have a method to contact an emergency contact and to be prepared to assist themselves or others if needed.
Registration and timing
There is no pre-registration; on-site registration follows a three-step check-in process that includes signing a waiver, choosing and keeping a numbered bib tag, and checking in with a Timing Marshall. A timing application records each runner’s individual start and finish times against a master clock. Podium placement is based on overall finish time only; there are no separate gender, age, or handicap categories and no awards or medals.
Fees and proceeds
Entry to the race is free. Donations are accepted; any donation overages are directed to Riverview Park aid programming. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
