Northshore Half Marathon
The Northshore Half Marathon weekend takes place in Fontainebleau State Park in Mandeville, Louisiana. The event program includes a Half Marathon, a 10 Miler, and the Jockamo IPA 5K, along with assisted versions of each distance. Courses start and finish beneath large moss-covered oak trees and the half marathon and 10 miler pass through spectator-lined historic homes in Old Mandeville, run along Lakeshore Drive and follow part of the Tammany Trace as the sun rises over the runners.
The courses are described as flat and fast and are often used by runners targeting personal records. The event is scheduled in October when temperatures in the region typically begin to cool after the summer months. Fontainebleau State Park and Historic Old Mandeville are within a short drive of New Orleans and Baton Rouge, making the location accessible for visitors from those cities. The weekend also features a post-race gathering identified as the Abita post-race party.
Time limits are published for each event and the race weekend includes additional services such as packet pickup, chip timing, results, and awards as part of the organized schedule. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
