About the race
The Northern Beaches Triathlon Series Race 1 is a club triathlon and duathlon event held at Scenic Drive, Manly, on the North Head section of Sydney Harbour National Park. The venue offers sea views, minimal traffic and relatively flat courses for the bike and run segments. Events are organised by Warringah Triathlon Club.
Race formats include triathlon and duathlon in two distances:
- Triathlon Enticer: 375 m swim, 2 km run, 12 km cycle, 2.5 km run
- Triathlon Sprint: 750 m swim, 2 km run, 21 km cycle, 5 km run
- Duathlon Enticer: 2.5 km run, 12 km cycle, 2.5 km run
- Duathlon Sprint: 2.5 km run, 21 km cycle, 5 km run
Juniors under 14 years on race day may only enter the Enticer. Athletes under 16 are classed as juniors; athletes over 60 receive a 50% discount. Entry fees vary by age and AusTriathlon membership status, with example adult fees listed for Standard/Premium, Social/Basic and non-members. Series entry is available to Adult Standard or Premium AusTriathlon members with a minimum of four races; Women's Only Triathlon is excluded from series entry. Competitors are electronically timed; segment results and podium and series awards are published. The club provides timing chips, course marshals, raffle prizes, refreshments and a post-event barbecue. There is no race-day registration; registration closes the Saturday before each race. Athletes may take part in up to two conducted-club races in a season before needing AusTriathlon and club membership. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
