Northbrook District 27 PTA 5K, 1 Mile and Kids' Dash
This community event on September 26, 2026 takes place at Wood Oaks Park, 1250 Sanders Rd, Northbrook, Illinois 60062. It is organized to promote fitness across age groups and to raise funds for the Rohrabaugh Scholarship Fund, which awards scholarships to Glenbrook North High School seniors who graduated from Wood Oaks Junior High School.
Event distances include:
- 5K
- 1 Mile
- Kids' Dash with warm up, dash, and an obstacle course
The 5K and 1 Mile courses are USATF certified. The event uses professional chip timing, and the 5K course has been simplified to a single loop. The Kids' 1 Mile is contained entirely within the park.
Registration opens March 18, 2026. Standard pricing closes August 31, 2026; registrations submitted after that date are accepted at higher prices and participants are not guaranteed a t-shirt. If available, only cotton shirts may be provided for late registrations. A separate T-shirt only option is offered.
Packet pick-up is scheduled at Wood Oaks Junior High School and specific on-site location details will be announced closer to the event. Scheduled pickup sessions include late afternoon options the day before the event and a morning option on the day of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
