North West Triathlon
The North West Triathlon takes place in Nantwich, Cheshire at Barony Park and Nantwich Leisure Centre on Sunday 20th September 2026. The event has been held for over 20 years at one of the oldest triathlon venues in the UK and is open to a wide range of competitors.
The swim is in an outdoor heated brine pool with a pool length of 30.5 m. Sprint distance swimmers complete 16 lengths for 500 m and Super Sprint and Fun swimmers complete 6 lengths for 200 m. Competitors are responsible for counting their own swim lengths.
The bike uses a one-lap, undulated rural course of 21 km, and cycle transitions are split between Nantwich Leisure Centre and Barony Park. Wearing a cycle helmet is compulsory. The run takes place on a flat, lapped grass course in Barony Park with a lap of 1.25 km (Sprint run four laps = 5 km; Super Sprint two laps = 2.5 km).
The event is electronic chip timed and all finishers receive an official medal. The venue provides on-site facilities including hot and cold food, refreshments, toilets and a children’s play area. The event is described as spectator friendly and includes relay options, a CRUK fundraising wave and a weekend kids duathlon for 5 to 16 year olds.
