North West Triathlon
The North West Triathlon takes place in Nantwich, Cheshire at Barony Park and Nantwich Leisure Centre on Sunday 19th September 2027. The event uses a heated outdoor brine pool that is one of the few remaining in Great Britain, followed by a countryside bike lap and a grass run around Barony Park.
Course details include a one-lap 21 km cycle route across South Cheshire and a flat, lapped run course on park grass. Transitions are split between Nantwich Leisure Centre and Barony Park. The event is electronically chip timed and all finishers receive an official medal. It is compulsory to wear a cycle helmet and competitors must count their own swim lengths and bike and run laps.
The event is aimed at a wide range of participants from novices to club and pro triathletes and includes relay teams, a CRUK charity wave and a separate kids duathlon for 5 to 16 year olds on the preceding Saturday. The park hosts food and refreshment stalls, toilets and a play area for families. Relay teams consist of two or three members who complete the swim, cycle or run in sequence. The CRUK Wave supports Cancer Research UK and an amount from each CRUK entry is donated to the charity. Minimum age for the main adult distances is 16 years on race day.
