North West Triathlon
The North West Triathlon takes place at Barony Park and Nantwich Leisure Centre in Nantwich, Cheshire on Sunday 20th September 2026. The event has run for more than 20 years and is aimed at a wide range of competitors, from novices to club and pro triathletes, including charity and fun entrants.
The race uses an outdoor heated brine pool for the swim, a one-lap 21 km bike route through the Cheshire countryside, and a grass run course around Barony Park with a 1.25 km lap. Transitions are split between Nantwich Leisure Centre and Barony Park. The event is chip timed and every finisher receives an official medal. Wearing a cycle helmet on the bike section is compulsory. Competitors must count their own pool lengths and laps on the bike and run.
Facilities at Barony Park include hot and cold food, refreshments, toilets and a play area with swings and slides. A kids fun duathlon for 5 to 16 year olds is held on the preceding Saturday. Relay teams may consist of two or three people; team members complete one or two disciplines and pass the electronic chip in transition.
