North West Triathlon - Nantwich, Cheshire (20 September 2026)
The North West Triathlon takes place at Barony Park and Nantwich Leisure Centre in Nantwich, Cheshire. The event uses an outdoor heated brine pool for the swim, a one-lap 21 km cycle through the Cheshire countryside, and a lapped 1.25 km grass run in Barony Park. Transitions are split between Nantwich Leisure Centre and Barony Park.
The event has multiple race formats and waves, including Sprint, Super Sprint, Fun, Sprint Relay, a CRUK charity wave, and a noncompetitive #TriTogether wave. Competitors receive an official finisher medal and timing is by electronic chip. All entrants must count their own swim lengths and bike and run laps, and cycle helmets are compulsory on the bike section. The venue is described as one of the oldest triathlon venues in the UK and has hosted thousands of competitors for over 20 years.
Facilities at the park include hot and cold food, refreshments, toilets, and a children’s play area. A separate North West UK Kids Fun Duathlon for 5 to 16 year olds runs on the preceding Saturday; that kids event has been oversubscribed in past years.
