North West Trail Running Series - Railton

Course Distances and Map
The Railton event is part of the North West Trail Running Series. It takes place on Sunday, 9th August, 2026. The course is located on public mountain bike trails in Tasmania.
Three distances are available:
- Short Course: 4.6 km with 100 meters of elevation gain.
- Medium Course: 12 km with 218 meters of elevation gain.
- Long Course: 18 km with 377 meters of elevation gain.

Registration and Entry
Entry fees vary by distance: $40 for the Short Course, $50 for the Medium Course, and $60 for the Long Course. On-the-day entries incur an additional $10 charge. A discount is offered for entering all three events in the series as a "Triple Crown."
Age restrictions apply: the Short Course requires participants under 13 to be accompanied by an adult; the Medium Course has a minimum age of 13; the Long Course has a minimum age of 16.
Event Details
This is a self-supported event. No on-course aid stations are provided. Participants must plan their own nutrition and hydration for the duration of their run. Free electrolytes are available at the start/finish area.
There are mandatory gear requirements for the Medium and Long courses, including a compression bandage and a mobile phone. The Long Course also requires an emergency space blanket and a whistle. All participants are advised to wear appropriate clothing for winter conditions in Tasmania.
Cut-off times are enforced: 1 hour for the Short Course, 2 hours and 40 minutes for the Medium Course, and 4 hours for the Long Course.
