Head for the Cure 5K – North Texas
The Head for the Cure 5K – North Texas is a community event to raise funds and awareness for brain cancer causes. The 2026 edition will be the 16th annual event.
The event features a timed 5K race. There is also a 100 Meter Dash for children. It starts at the Red Tail Pavilion in Plano. Packet pick-up and registration opens on the morning of the event.
Funds raised benefit local and national brain cancer programs. Local beneficiaries include research at UT Southwestern, the Grey Matters Support Group of North Texas, and Path to Hope. The event schedule includes a photo session for brain tumor survivors and special recognition ceremonies for caregivers, survivors, and healthcare professionals.
