North Star's Duck Dash 5k & Kid's Fun Run : July 18, 2026, Cedar Falls, IA
This community event on July 18, 2026 in Cedar Falls includes a morning 5K Run/Walk and a separate Kids Fun Run held afterward. The 5K is a timed event and includes a participant medal. The route begins near the Paw Park and follows an out and back course on the bike trail along South Main, passing under Greenhill Road to a turnaround and returning to the start area.
Packet pick-up is available at North Star Community Services in Waterloo on the Friday before the race and also on race day beginning early. The Kids Fun Run is intended for children 12 and under and takes place on the trail around The Falls Aquatic Center as one lap. Children in the Fun Run receive a participant ribbon or gift; a free registration option is listed alongside a paid t-shirt option.
The event schedule includes the Great Rubber Duck Splash at The Falls following the runs. That event features food trucks, kid activities, and duck adoptions; admission is free with a minimum duck adoption of five dollars. Duck-themed costumes are welcome.
