North Star's Duck Dash 5k & Kid's Fun Run
North Star's Duck Dash is a community running event held on July 18, 2026 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, with activities centered near 3200 South Main Street and The Falls. The event program includes a 5K Run/Walk and a separate Kids Fun Run for children 12 and under.

The 5K is a timed event and includes a participant medal. The route begins near the Paw Park and follows an out-and-back course along the bike trail on South Main, passing under Greenhill Road to a turnaround point and returning to the start area. The Kids Fun Run takes place on the trail around The Falls Aquatic Center and each child receives a participant ribbon or gift.
Registration opens March 19, 2026. An early bird discount of five dollars applies for registrations completed by June 1. T-shirt options are available for additional fees; to guarantee a t-shirt, registration should be completed by July 7. Packet pick-up is available the day before the event at North Star Community Services in Waterloo and also on race day at the event location.
Following the runs, the Great Rubber Duck Splash fundraiser will be held at The Falls with food trucks and kid activities. Admission to the splash event is free with a minimum duck adoption. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
