CVSP Pump & Run

The Cedar Valley SportsPlex Pump and Run takes place April 24, 2027, at 300 Jefferson St., Waterloo, IA. The event includes multiple running events and a public health expo held on the Friday night during pump and packet pickup. The expo brings together local businesses, organizations, and non-profits for public interaction.

At the health expo participants may bench press and bicep curl a percentage of their body weight to earn reductions in their 5K time. Each completed repetition reduces the 5K time by 10 seconds. Participation in the pump activities is optional and runners may compete without any time reduction.

Registration details are provided for each event. Registration for the 5K and the 2-mile opens December 1, 2026, and closes February 1, 2027. The 5K registration fee is $30 and the 2-mile registration fee is $20. Kids ages 1 to 18 may register free for either the 2-mile or the 5K; their registration opens December 9, 2026, and closes April 24, 2027. Veterans may register without fee using code "ThankYou" and will be recognized on race day.
