Chesterfield 5K
The Chesterfield 5K is an annual running event held on the morning of the North Gratiot Cruise as a community fundraiser organized by the Southeast Michigan Chamber of Commerce. The event includes a timed competitive 5K run/walk and a non-competitive 1K fun-run walk that stays on site around the event headquarters.
Run headquarters is in the parking lot of Gardner White / Kohl's at 23 Mile Road and Gratiot Avenue in Chesterfield Township. Registration is managed through Eastside Racing Company on the EnMotive platform, and same-day registration and bib pick up are available at Cruise headquarters on race morning. All registrants receive an event T-shirt and medal; water and snacks are provided. Dogs are not allowed.
The 5K route begins on Cotton Road and follows neighborhood streets including Dove Lane, Sparrow Court, Michelle Ann Drive, Clark Circle, Celeste Street, Kelly Lee Lane, Galassi Street, Fuller Road, and Kuchenmeister Street before returning to Cruise headquarters. The course is marked along the entire route.
The 5K uses electronic timing chips and monitored timing provided by Eastside Racing Company. Cash prizes are offered for the top three male and female finishers, and a $25 Hansons gift card is awarded to top finishers in each listed age category.
