Event Overview
The North Country Honor Run takes place on US Oval in Plattsburgh, New York. It is organized in collaboration with North Country Honor Flight, a non-profit that transports veterans to Washington, D.C., and is executed by seventh-grade students from Beekmantown Middle School as a project-based learning initiative. All event proceeds benefit North Country Honor Flight.
Event Details
The event begins with an Honor Flight ceremony. Following the ceremony, participants in the running and walking events join the veterans for a portion of their parade route, running alongside the motorcade.
Three events are offered:
- North Country Honor Run 5k
- North Country Honor Run 1 Mile US Oval Walk
- North Country Honor Run Bike Brigade (a children's event with a suggested donation)
A t-shirt is included with race registration while supplies last. Prizes are awarded to the top three runners and for best-dressed participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
