North Bend State Park 5K
The North Bend State Park 5K is a running and walking event held in Cairo, West Virginia. Participants are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes during the race. The event takes place on a course that follows the main roads within the state park, offering a route through various natural and recreational areas.
The race follows an out-and-back format. Participants begin at the North Bend State Park service lot and proceed along the main road. The course includes a loop around Picnic Shelter 1 and 2 before continuing past the local pool and the River Run Campground. Runners then cross a bridge and head toward Picnic Shelter 3.
Upon reaching the gravel parking lot at Picnic Shelter 3, participants turn around and return along the same path. This return leg includes a second pass through the Picnic Shelter 1 and 2 loop.
