North American Friendship Run - Buffalo, NY
The North American Friendship Run takes place on August 8, 2026, at Delaware Park in downtown Buffalo. The event is hosted by the Asian American Cultural Alliance in partnership with the Asian Food and Culture Festival. It is intended to foster community engagement, celebrate cultural diversity, and promote physical and mental well-being.
The main event is a scenic 5K run/walk through Delaware Park, finishing near St. George Orthodox Church. The 5K is a two-loop course with the start line located a short five-minute walk from the finish line. There will be one water station on course and bottled water will be provided to all participants at the finish area.
Online registration remains open through race day. Register by July 24 for a guaranteed event shirt in the requested size; a small number of extra shirts will be available afterward on a first-come, first-served basis. Entry fees are listed as $30 through June and $35 through race day.
A post-race celebration and awards ceremony will take place at the finish area with light snacks and beverages. Medals will be presented to the 1st place overall male and female 5K finishers, and age group winners will be recognized. Professional timing and finish line services will be used, with real-time results and downloadable finisher certificates and photos available after the race.
There is plentiful free parking near Delaware Park. In case of severe weather or other safety concerns, organizers may reschedule the event or convert it to a virtual 5K; there will be no refunds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
