North American Friendship Run
The North American Friendship Run is scheduled for Aug 8, 2026 at Delaware Park in downtown Buffalo. The event is hosted by the Asian American Cultural Alliance and presented in partnership with the Asian Food and Culture Festival. Its stated purposes are to foster community engagement, celebrate cultural diversity, and promote physical wellness.
The event offers a 5K run/walk on a two-loop course that passes through Delaware Park and finishes near St. George Orthodox Church. The start line is a short five minute walk from the finish area. There will be one water station on course and bottled water will be provided to participants at the finish.
Registration remains open through race day. Register by July 24 to guarantee an event shirt in the requested size; a limited number of extra shirts will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Entry categories and fees are published for adults, youth, children, and seniors, with children five and under and seniors 80 and older listed as free without a shirt.
A post-race celebration and awards ceremony will be held at the finish area with light snacks and beverages. Medals will be awarded to the first place overall male and female 5K finishers and age group winners will be recognized. Professional electronic timing using Jaguar Electronic RFID will provide real-time results and finish line photos and custom certificates will be available after the race. There is free parking near Delaware Park. The organizers reserve the right to reschedule or convert the event to a virtual 5K; no refunds will be issued.
