About the race
The NJ Halloween event at Overpeck County Park Amphitheater in Ridgefield Park, NJ offers chip timed road races on mostly paved, mostly flat loops around a lake. The event includes multiple distances with looped courses so spectators can see runners on repeated laps.
Distances
- Half Marathon : four laps of a 3.27 mile loop
- 10K : two laps of a 3.1 mile loop
- 5K : one lap of a 3.1 mile loop
On-course support includes water, Gatorade, and power gels placed at multiple stations roughly every mile. Professional timing provides per-lap splits and live results; friends and family can follow participants with live online tracking and real-time updates. Race photos and participant videos are posted after the race.
Race-day services and awards include race-number pickup on race day, bag check, portable toilets, a finisher medal, a tech shirt or runner jersey, post-race food and drinks, and an awards ceremony. Overall plaques are given to the top three men and women in each distance, and age-group medals go to the top three men and women in each age group.
Key rules state that bibs must be worn on the front torso, participants must sign required waivers, riders and animals are not allowed on the course, and entrants must be at least 12 years old.
