Event details
The NipMuck Trail Marathon takes place in Ashford, Connecticut, on October 4, 2026. The event is organized by the Shenipsit Striders, a nonprofit trail running club that donates to Connecticut trail stewardship and land use programs. Registration opens on January 1, 2026. Race shirts are available as an add-on during registration or via the event store; shirt orders must be placed before September 12. The event is part of the Blue-Blazed Trail Running Series. Participants are asked to stay home if they do not feel well on race day.
Course and race format
The full race covers 26.4 miles on the Nipmuck Trail and includes rocks, roots, mud, and wood bridges. The course follows a 13-mile segment of the 36-mile Nipmuck Trail, starting on Perry Hill Road in Ashford, running south about 6.2 miles to Route 44 and back to the start, then north about 7 miles to Boston Hollow Road and returning to Perry Hill Road. The route notes that roughly 60% of running time is spent in the second half due to hills and a bit more distance.
