Event

The NipMuck Trail Marathon takes place on October 4, 2026 in Ashford, Connecticut. The event is organized by the Shenipsit Striders and is part of the Blue-Blazed Trail Running Series. Course and logistics

The race follows a 13-mile segment in the middle of the 36-mile Nipmuck Trail and starts at the corner of Lipps Road and Perry Hill Road in Ashford. The marathon route goes south about 6.2 miles to Route 44, returns to the start, then goes north about 7 miles to Boston Hollow Road and back to the finish at Perry Hill Road, for a total of 26.4 miles. The course includes rocks, roots, mud, and wooden bridges. Organizers note that about 60% of the race time is spent in the second half due to hills and slightly more distance. Course cutoffs are: reach the midpoint (~12.4 mi) in 3h15m, reach the second turnaround (~19.4 mi) in 5h20m, and finish within 8 hours.
