Nipmuck South Trail Race
The Nipmuck South Trail Race takes place at Mansfield Hollow State Park, with the event centered at the park picnic area near 151 Bassetts Bridge Road in Mansfield, Connecticut. Parking is available near the start and finish area and volunteers will direct parking. Registration is offered in advance and race day registration is available at a higher price, cash only. Race shirts can be ordered as an add-on while registering; shirt orders must be placed before May 22. Registration closes on June 13.
The 15‑Miler is an out and back route that follows much of the Nipmuck Trail and the Fenton River for a distance of about 15.7 miles. The course includes several small bridge crossings, a climb to a 50 foot cliff, fields, woods, three water stops along the trail, and support at road crossings. The route finishes near Old Turnpike Road by Route 44.
A new 5K course for 2026 stays entirely within Mansfield Hollow State Park with no road crossings. The 5K includes an opening section to find a pace, a runnable single track forest loop of about one mile, a Flood Line Trail segment, technical sections on the Blue Trail, and a Yellow Trail loop with several hills in the final mile.
