Nikki Cozzi-Carso Scholarship Annual 5K
The event is a 5K held on November 14, 2026 at Deer Grove-East Picnic Grove #4 in Palatine, IL. It is presented by the Chicago Canicross Club and is open to runners, walkers, and canicross participants who run with their dogs.

Canicross participants must use sport specific gear: a padded canicross waist belt, a 1.5 to 2 meter elastic bungee line, and a properly fitted dog harness. Standard leashes and collars are not permitted in the canicross event. Organizers will offer a gear check and may move participants to the non canicross heat if equipment is unsuitable. A separate dog friendly heat is available that does not require canicross equipment; dogs should wear gear that does not cause choking or neck strain.
