About the race
The 5th Patras Night Half Marathon "Fanis Tsimigkatos" is an athletic event held in the city of Patras. Organized by the Municipality of Patras and the "Kouros" Athletic Club, this competition is dedicated to the memory of the distinguished marathon runner Fanis Tsimigkatos. The race is officially recognized by SEGAS and AIMS, ensuring that performance results for the main distances are formally acknowledged.
The event features a flat, asphalt course along the coastal front of the city. Runners will pass through various locations including the Old Port, the Customs Office, the Marina, Glyfada, and the Aguias Marsh, with views of the Rio-Antirio Bridge. The route has a maximum elevation difference of only three meters from sea level.
Available race distances include:
- Half Marathon (21.097 km) for participants born in 2008 and earlier.
- 5 km Road Race for participants born in 2014 and earlier.
- 1 km Road Race for elementary school students (born 2015-2017) and People with Disabilities.
Official timing is provided with intermediate check points for the half marathon. Support stations are positioned approximately every 2.5 km for the longest race, providing water, energy drinks, and isotonic beverages. All participants who finish will receive a commemorative medal. The event also provides a storage area for personal items near the start for runners of the 5 km and Half Marathon distances.
