Event Overview

The AWARE Wildlife Night Owl 5K is a run and walk event held in Panola Mountain State Park, located near Atlanta in Stockbridge, Georgia. All proceeds from the event go to support AWARE's mission of wildlife rehabilitation and education for native Georgia species.

Course & Format

The event is a 5 km course through the state park. It is designed for both running and walking. Information from past participants indicates that approximately half of the participants choose to walk the course.

Beneficiary

AWARE is a wildlife rehabilitation organization. It accepts injured and orphaned native animals, such as owls and opossums, with the goal of healing and raising them for release back into the wild. During the event, non-releasable animals cared for by AWARE will be present at the sidelines and start/finish area.

Participant Perks

Registered participants receive an event t-shirt. There are also medals available to win. A notable feature is the opportunity for participants to take pictures with the wildlife ambassadors present on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
