Night Moves Trail Races
Night Moves is a nighttime trail running event held at Stephen F Austin State Park in San Felipe, Texas. The event uses a looped course based at the park group dining hall, which serves as packet pickup, the main aid station, timing, medal distribution, and the start/finish/lap area. The trails are wide and are mainly gravel and dirt with a few quick elevation changes.
Distances:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half Marathon
- Marathon
- Free kids race
Course and laps are structured so one full loop follows the red then blue routes for just over 5 km. The 10k is two loops, the 5k is one loop, the half marathon is four loops with a green add-on on the first loop, and the marathon is eight loops with the green add-on on the first two loops. The course will be marked with flags, reflective markers, and ribbons.
Runners must carry a light and a hydration device; the event is cupless so participants must carry their own bottle or flask. There is one fully stocked aid station at the start/finish area and one unmanned water refill point at the road crossing. Runners may set up personal support areas on the start/finish lawn and may use a ground tarp for drop bags at the same location.
Parking follows park staff instructions along the right side of the park road beginning at the group dining hall entrance. Pacers are not permitted and crew support is limited to the start/finish area. Camping and guest park passes are managed through park systems and event procedures.
