Night Crawler Endurance Challenge
The Night Crawler Endurance Challenge is an overnight time based trail running event held on Casper Mountain near the Casper Mountain Trails Center and Nordic stadium at 9301 Casper Mountain Rd., Casper, WY. The 2026 edition is the tenth running of the event and takes place over the weekend of Aug 14–15, 2026.
The course runs on forested trails atop the mountain at about 8,100 feet elevation. The event is organized around a Start/Lap/Finish area in the Nordic stadium and uses the Trails Center parking lot for access. Participants may rest in the Start/Lap/Finish area between laps and use tents, hammocks, or chairs.
Available race formats:
- 4 hour solo
- 12 hour solo
- 12 hour 4-person relay
Registration closes on Aug 12, 2026. Late registration is available at packet pick up for an additional fee. Every participant receives a finisher award. Awards are given to top overall female and male finishers in the 4 hour and 12 hour solo divisions and to the top 12 hour 4-person relay team.
Organizers note that the format allows participants to run and rest as they choose and that there is no traditional DNF status since runners may stop and restart within the allotted time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
