Nigel Barge Memorial 10k Road Race
The Nigel Barge Memorial 10k is organised by Maryhill Harriers and takes place in Glasgow on 18 January 2026. The event is one of Scotland’s oldest road races, first run in 1943, and commemorates Nigel Barge. The race starts and finishes within the grounds of the Garscube Kelvin Campus estate.
Course and logistics
The route is a two-lap course on tarmac paths and roads around the Garscube Estate. The course has been officially measured. Roads will remain open to traffic on the day, so runners must follow instructions from marshals. Registration and number pick up are located at the Garscube Estate sports facility; changing facilities are available and bags may be left at owners risk. Limited parking is available at the sports centre; additional parking is available at the adjacent Todd Campus Science Park and on surrounding streets. Entrants are asked not to park in private business car parks, on double yellow lines, or alongside sports pitches.
Entry, prizes and results
Entry fees are: SAL registered £15, others £17. Total places are 400 and the event status is open. Prize money is listed for top finishers and teams, with specific vet category prizes and a King and Queen of the Hill award. All finishers receive a medal, fresh fruit and water. Timing uses ProTays chip timing and results will be posted on the club website and the Scottish Athletics website. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
