Niantic Bay Triathlon
The Niantic Bay Triathlon is a sprint distance triathlon held in the shoreline communities of Niantic and East Lyme on Sunday, August 9, 2026. The 2025 edition of the event sold out. The race includes a swim, a bike loop, and an oceanfront run that finishes on the beach.
The event distances are:
- Swim: 1/2 mile in Niantic Bay, calm water without waves or strong currents
- Bike: 11.4 mile loop through East Lyme with long straightaways on rolling, shaded roads
- Run: 3.2 miles along the oceanfront with spectator-lined roads and a beach finish
Team Relay registration is offered for two or three members to divide the three legs among teammates. Aquabike registration is also available for participants who choose not to run or cannot participate in the run.
A new HMF Milestone membership program in 2026 provides member perks such as a custom birthday gift, access to member-only wait lists for sold out events, and personalized bibs at select events.
