Newtown 5K - Newtown, OH
The 44th Annual Newtown 5K takes place on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Moundview Park, 3130 Newtown Road, Newtown, Ohio. The event is organized by Turpin Cross Country and includes community fundraising for Inter Parish Ministries through a canned goods collection.
The program offers a 5K Run and a 5K Walk with a separate start for walkers. Walkers must start with the walkers and must walk the entire distance; running is not permitted in the walk event. The course is 3.1 miles over residential streets, relatively flat, with mile splits, and it begins and ends at Moundview Park. First aid and water stations are provided on the course.
Chip timing is used with Ipico shoe tags. Tags are distributed on race day only, must be attached to the shoe to receive an electronic time, and are collected at the finish for reuse.
Individual divisions are offered by sex with the following age groups for runners 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. Walkers have age divisions 29 and under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 and over.
Team competitions include a corporate team contest with the top three finishers scoring and a $200 sponsorship option that covers up to seven runners and shirts, and a school team competition with the top five finishers scoring. Awards include overall and age group recognitions for runners and walkers, special Newtown resident awards, and awards for team competitions. A free kids fun run for ages five and under and for elementary children follows the 5K with no advance signup required.
Online pre registration is $30 through August 2 with a higher fee thereafter; late online registration is available through race day. Race shirts are available for purchase while supplies last.
