Newtown 5K - August 8, 2026
The event is a community 5K at Moundview Park, 3130 Newtown Road, Newtown, OH. It includes two separate event categories: a 5K Run and a 5K Walk. The walk has its own start and walkers must walk the entire distance; running is not allowed in the walk category.
The course is 3.1 miles on residential streets, relatively flat, with mile splits, water stations, and first aid available on course. The start and finish are at Moundview Park. Chip timing with reusable shoe tags will be used; a tag is required to receive an official time. Tags are distributed on race day and collected at the finish.
Age-group awards are given for male and female runners and walkers across specified age divisions. Additional awards include overall and first Newtown resident awards, plus prizes for corporate and school team competitions. Corporate scoring uses the top three finishers and a $200 sponsorship covers up to seven runners and shirts. School teams score with their top five finishers.
Pre-registration is available online with a listed fee; late and race-day online registration is available at a higher fee. All registrations are conducted online; there is no mail-in or in-person paper registration. Race shirts are offered for an extra fee while supplies last. A free kids fun run for young children takes place after the 5K. The event collects canned goods for Inter-Parish Ministries. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
