Newtown 5K : 44th Annual
The Newtown 5K is scheduled for Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Moundview Park, 3130 Newtown Road, Newtown, Ohio. The event offers a 5K run and a separate 5K walk that begin and end at the park.
The course covers 3.1 miles over residential streets and is described as relatively flat. Mile splits are provided, and first aid and water stations are available on the course.
Divisions are organized by age and sex for both runners and walkers. Runner age groups include 10 and under, 11 to 14, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over. Walker age groups include 29 and under, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79, and 80 and over. Walkers start separately and registered walkers must walk the entire distance.
Team competitions are included. A corporate team sponsorship covers up to seven runners and includes shirts for the team. A school team competition scores the top five finishers for a total team time.
Timing uses reusable shoe tags distributed on race day; a tag must be attached to a shoe to receive an electronic time. Registration is online only with a pre-registration fee and a late online fee. Race t-shirts are available for a fee while supplies last. A free kids fun run is held after the 5K with separate short routes for different ages.
