Henderson Newcastle Marathon
The Henderson Newcastle Marathon is an organised road running event in Newcastle that features a marathon and a half marathon along the city coastline. The course is AIMS accredited and runs through coastal and harbour locations, including the Honeysuckle Foreshore and past Nobbys Beach and Newcastle Beach. The event date is 18 April 2027 and early bird entries open on 1 July 2026. Entries close the day before the event unless sold out; a late entry fee applies from two weeks before race day. Transfers to another person are permitted through the entry portal for a $10 fee. Refunds are available on a sliding scale: 70% refund up to six weeks before the event, 40% refund from six weeks to 14 days before the event, and no refunds within 14 days of the event.
All finishers receive a commemorative medal. Age group medals are not presented; only the overall male and female winners receive prizes. Cut-off times are 6 hours for the full marathon and 4 hours for the half marathon to meet road reopening requirements. Dogs are not permitted on the course.
