About the race
The Henderson Newcastle Marathon is an AIMS-accredited road race held in Newcastle with both full and half marathon options. The course runs along coastal and harbour areas, including the Honeysuckle Foreshore, Nobbys Beach and Newcastle Beach, and is described as flat and fast. Organisers note planned course changes and list the start and finish at the Foreshore Park car park, subject to final course confirmation.

- 42.2 km full marathon
- 21.1 km half marathon
Entries open with an early bird period and close the day before the event unless sold out; a late entry fee applies from two weeks before race day. Runners who cannot attend may transfer their entry to another person via the event entry portal for a $10 fee. Refunds are offered on a sliding scale: 70% up to six weeks before the event, 40% from six weeks to 14 days before, and no refunds within 14 days. Cut-off times are 6 hours for the full marathon and 4 hours for the half marathon to allow road reopenings.
All finishers receive a commemorative medal. Only the overall male and female winners receive prizes; age group medals are not issued. Official results are published via Multisport Australia Timing and race photos via Marathon Photos. Dogs are not permitted on the course.
