Lake Macquarie Triathlon Festival and New U Run
The event takes place on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 February 2027 at Speers Point Park, Lake Macquarie. It combines running and multisport races with swim, cycle and run legs held along the lake foreshore.
The course characteristics include calm, protected swim waters, a flat closed-road cycle on The Esplanade, and lakeside run routes on the foreshore path.
Event distances include:
- New U Run: 10 km, 5 km, 2 km
- Standard Triathlon: 1.5 km swim / 40 km cycle / 10 km run
- Sprint Triathlon: 750 m swim / 20 km cycle / 5 km run
- Super Sprint Triathlon: 250 m swim / 13 km cycle / 2.5 km run
- Aquabike options correspond to triathlon swim and cycle distances
- Junior races: 100–250 m swim, 2.8–13 km cycle, 500 m–2.5 km run
- Aquathlon: 1 km swim / 5 km run
Entry fees vary by event and by booking period (early, standard, late, very late). Prize money is awarded for overall male and female winners in Sprint and Standard distance triathlons; amounts range from $1000 for first in Standard to $100 for third in Sprint. Prize payments are by EFT within seven days and winners must provide bank account details.
Places are awarded 1st–3rd in TriNSW standard age categories and all finishers receive a medal; separate age category medals are only for Championship events.
