Newcastle Bun Run 2026 : Waratah Gardens, Waratah
The Newcastle Bun Run is a social running event that visits local bakeries and cafes on an approximately 12 km route through Newcastle. The course has been revised for 2026 and includes multiple stops where participants receive a pre-ordered pastry sample at each venue. The longest gap between stops is about 4.0 km. Tickets cover the treats provided at each stop; dietary requirements cannot be accommodated.
The event meets at Waratah Gardens, opposite Waratah Station. Organisers will collect pre-ordered pastries from venues and ask participants to move aside while businesses continue their Saturday trade. Participants can choose to collect their baked goods at each stop or pick them up at the finish area to enjoy later. The organiser will upload a Strava route for participants to follow.
There is a participant acknowledgment and waiver that states attendees confirm they are fit to participate, accept the risks inherent in running and walking activities, and agree to indemnify and release the organisers from certain liabilities to the extent permitted by law.
