New River Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K
The New River Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K takes place in Todd, North Carolina on May 14 to 15, 2027. Events are held over two days and are set along the New River in the Blue Ridge Mountain region.
The course follows the New River valley and offers views of horse farms, Christmas tree farms and the Blue Ridge Mountains. The New River is identified as one of the American Heritage Rivers. The event is USATF certified and includes multiple distance options with portions of each route running beside the river.
The event provides locally crafted awards and wooden finisher medallions made from Blue Ridge Mountain wood. Finishers also receive locally produced food items and other event goodies. Registration for 2027 opens on August 1, 2026. Entry fees listed for the event range from USD 28.00 to USD 158.00 depending on distance and registration options.
