Hayfield Hustle and Oktoberfest at New Pond Farm
This event takes place on September 26, 2026 at New Pond Farm Education Center in Redding, Connecticut. It combines a set of running events with a family Oktoberfest on the farm.
Distances offered:
- 1K Children’s Sap Run, untimed, through maple trees
- 5K rolling out-and-back course past hay fields
- 5 Mile scenic rolling course past properties harvested for hay
Race registrations include a race t-shirt, a New Pond Farm magnet, a lunch tote, early access to the Family Oktoberfest, one Oktoberfest meal, and one beverage (beer available for registrants 21 and older). Additional race amenities listed by the organizer include live music, scenic tractor-pulled wagon rides, a property-wide discovery challenge scavenger hunt, farm animals, and children’s craft tickets where applicable.
Oktoberfest-only registrations include a New Pond Farm magnet, a lunch tote, live music, wagon rides, the scavenger hunt, farm animals, lawn games, meal and beverage, and craft tickets for children. Additional food and drinks will be available for purchase, including Ferris Acres Creamery ice cream.
Registration closes on September 12 and capacity is limited to 250 runner spots plus 250 additional guest spots. Event proceeds support New Pond Farm Education Center and its conservation, environmental education, and sustainable agriculture programs.
