New Castle Band 5K Run and Walk

The New Castle Band 5K Run and Walk is a community fun run held on the Wilbur Wright Trail with a start and finish at the local YMCA at 300 Whittenbraker Ave, New Castle, IN 47362. The event is the second annual NC Band 5K and is organized by band boosters to raise funds for school ensembles including marching band, jazz ensembles, concert band, wind ensemble, indoor percussion groups and winter guard.

The event features a single 5K distance. Registration opens June 17, 2026 and closes August 1, 2026. Online registration is available; on-site volunteers will assist with registration and packet pick-up on race day. Entry is $20 per person including processing fees. Participants receive race swag.

Strollers are welcome. Pets are not permitted. Prizes will be awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers. As a fun run, the event will not use a timing company. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
