Muncie Triathlon USAT Indiana State Championship
The event is the USAT Indiana State Championship at Prairie Creek Reservoir Park in Selma, Indiana. It includes multiple race formats and is limited to 1000 total racers. The race is USAT sanctioned and professionally chip timed; all participants receive a race t-shirt and finishers receive a medal. Age eligibility begins at 12 (by 12-31-26).
The swim takes place in Prairie Creek Reservoir with a time trial beach start; buoys mark course turns and the Olympic swim uses two laps while the sprint uses one. Wetsuit rules follow USAT guidelines: wetsuits allowed up to 78°F, allowed with an asterisk in results between 78 and 84°F, and prohibited above 84°F.
The bike course uses paved roads with gently rolling hills, marked turns, and police control at park exit and intersections. Sprint bike is one lap; Olympic bike is two laps. There are no aid stations on the bike course; aid is available near transition and on the run.
The run courses are single lap out-and-back routes on mostly smooth pavement with rolling hills and aid stations roughly every mile plus stations at transition. Transition area procedures include body marking and mandatory wristbands, a maximum of eight bikes per rack, and access restricted to participants and volunteers. Helmets must meet CPSC standards and audio devices are prohibited. Awards include age group trophies and medals, and overall and masters trophies.
