New Balance 5th Avenue Mile
The New Balance 5th Avenue Mile is a one mile road race on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan held on Sunday, September 13, 2026. The course runs down a 20 block stretch of Fifth Avenue near Museum Mile and is the same course used by the professional fields.
The event distance is 1 Mile. Entry fees range from $0.00 to $58.16. All registrants receive a pair of New Balance tech shorts. Heats include professional invitation-only fields and a NYRR Road Mile Championships division that awards prize money to top finishers; additional heats and wave starts accommodate other competitors.
Prize money is offered in the Professional Athlete heats, with payouts for top finishers, and in NYRR championship heats for eligible members. Awards are presented on site to the top three finishers in the overall men, women, and nonbinary divisions. Age-group placings may claim awards after the race through the event process.
A free Back to School Mile for kids ages 2 to 18 is offered on race day; registration is required. Race number pickup is available at the NYRR RUNCENTER featuring the New Balance Run Hub at 320 West 57th Street.
