Nettleden Duathlon
The Nettleden Duathlon is organised by a group of friends from Aldbury and takes place in the grounds of Nettleden Lodge, near Berkhamsted. The event consists of a run, a cycle, and a final run on the same venue.
Distances for the main duathlon:
- 6 km run
- 24 km cycle
- 6 km run
The race can be completed by an individual or by a relay team. Both running legs follow the same route. Tea, coffee and cake are available in the morning and a barbecue is provided after the event.
There are separate children’s fun races for several year groups from ages 4 to 14. These children’s events use loops inside the Nettleden Lodge grounds, kept away from public roads, and do not require formal entry; they are free and can be entered on the day. The duathlon raises money for three charities named by the organiser, including Cancer Research UK and Harrisons Fund. All money raised is donated and event costs are not deducted.
