Nettleden Duathlon
The Nettleden Duathlon is organised by a group of friends from Aldbury and takes place in the grounds of Nettleden Lodge near Berkhamsted. The event can be entered by individuals or by teams competing as a relay.
The race comprises three legs:
- 6 km run
- 24 km cycle
- 6 km run
Both running legs follow the same route. The cycling leg is a separate section of the course.
Refreshments such as tea, coffee and cake are available in the morning and a barbecue is provided after the event. A prize giving follows the duathlon.
Children are welcome to attend and to take part in a separate fun race for different year groups aged 4 to 14. Those races use loops around the grounds and are held away from public roads. There is no formal entry requirement for the kids events; they are free and can be entered on the day.
The duathlon raises funds for three charities: Homeless Young Heroes, Cancer Research UK and Harrison’s Fund. Organisers state that all money raised is donated in full and that no event costs are deducted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
