Event and location

The Netherhall 10 Mile Road Race takes place in Maryport, Great Britain, on 22 February 2026. The race distance is 10 miles and is a single anticlockwise lap on mainly undulating country roads. The route passes through Dearham, Bulgill and Crosby on the West Cumbrian coast. The course is officially measured and certified by the Association of UK Course Measurers.

Course, safety and race day

The course starts down the road from the school and finishes in the lay-by near the school entrance. Roads remain open to traffic, so runners must follow the race director and marshals. The course will be signed and marshalled. There will be a drinks station at around 5 miles and drinks available at the finish. First aid provision will be on site. A lead bike or car and a sweeper runner will accompany the field. A race briefing is scheduled prior to the start.

Facilities, registration and entries

Registration takes place in the school sports centre area and race numbers are issued at registration. Parking is available at the school; toilets and showers are in the school sports centre. Post-race refreshments are provided by club members. Registration closes 21 February 2026, 15:00. If the event does not sell out, entries on the day will be £3 above the online price.

Prizes and withdrawals

Prizes are awarded 1st to 3rd male and female, veteran male and female in five-year categories from age 35, and 1st male and female junior (17-20). Prizes are presented during the buffet after the race; spot prizes will also be awarded. Withdrawals and number swaps are allowed until 20 February 2025; refunds incur a small processing charge and no refunds or changes are allowed after that date.
