NEMS Alcorn State Alumni Race for Scholars 5K
The event raises funds to provide scholarships for students from northeast Mississippi to attend Alcorn State University. Many prospective recipients are first generation college students and the proceeds are intended to help cover additional costs needed for college attendance.
In-person activities are held at Fair Park, 71 Troy Street, Tupelo, MS 38802, with primary on-site activities scheduled for June 20, 2026. A virtual race option begins June 13, 2026 and offers separate results for virtual participants. Virtual participation is monitored using RACEJOY; virtual results are provided for recognition only and virtual participants are not eligible for awards.
A Health and Wellness Fair is held in conjunction with the 5K at Fair Park. Planned services include a blood drive, diabetes screening, blood pressure and cholesterol screening, and COVID screening and vaccinations.
Registration for the in-person and virtual 5K opens February 2, 2026 and closes May 1, 2026. The standard registration fee listed for the main events is $25.00. Event categories include a 5K run, a 5K walk, a 5K wheelchair division, and a virtual 5K. Separate results will be maintained for virtual and in-person participants.
