Neighborhood House Scare Away Hunger 5K
Neighborhood House Scare Away Hunger is a community fundraising run and family fun run/walk held on October 4, 2026 at Rochester Municipal Park in Rochester, Michigan. The event supports the Neighborhood House Food Pantry and requests canned food donations to help neighbors facing food insecurity.

The event offers participant items such as race bibs, timing for the 5K, a T-shirt and medal for 5K runners, participation awards for the family run, and finish line snacks. Packet pick-up is available Friday, October 2, 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Neighborhood House Main Office, 1720 South Livernois, Rochester. On-site packet pick-up is also available on race day. Pancake breakfast and children's activities are provided after the runs.
Participants and their pets are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes. Costumes must be family friendly, not obstructive or violent, must not include realistic or weaponlike items, and must not contain sharp or pointed objects or drag on the ground. Strollers are welcome and will be staged toward the back of the pack. The event proceeds rain or shine; only severe weather or lightning may cause a delay or cancellation.
