Neighborhood House Scare Away Hunger 5K
Neighborhood House Scare Away Hunger is a community run and walk held on October 4, 2026 at Rochester Municipal Park in Rochester, Michigan. The event includes a 5K run/walk and a 1 mile family fun run/walk and supports Neighborhood House programs that address food insecurity.

Packet pick-up is available the day before at the Neighborhood House Main Office located at 1720 South Livernois in Rochester. Registered participants in the 5K are offered race services such as professional timing, a runner bib, a shirt, a medal and finish line snacks. Family fun run participants receive a bib, a participation award and finish line snacks. A pancake breakfast and children’s activities are scheduled after the runs and a spectator pancake breakfast is offered as a separate option.
Participants are encouraged to wear family friendly Halloween costumes. Costumes must not be obstructive, offensive, violent or contain weapons that could be mistaken for real items. Costumes may not include sharp or pointed objects or drag on the ground. Strollers are welcome and will be staged at the back of the pack. The event proceeds and on-site food donations will support the Neighborhood House Food Pantry. The event runs rain or shine; only severe weather or lightning may cause delay or cancellation.
