Neighborhood House Scare Away Hunger 5K
The Neighborhood House Scare Away Hunger event is scheduled for Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Rochester Municipal Park, 400 6th Street, Rochester. The event program includes running and walking distances plus a spectator meal option. Participants are encouraged to wear family-friendly Halloween costumes that are not obstructive, offensive, violent, sharp, or weapon-like. Strollers are allowed and will be staged at the back of the pack. The event will run rain or shine; only severe weather or lightning may cause a delay or cancellation.

Logistics and race details
Registration for the listed events opens March 31, 2026, at 9:00am EDT. Packet pick-up is available Thursday, October 2 (1:00 PM - 4:00 PM) and Friday, October 3 (5:00 PM - 7:00 PM) at the Neighborhood House Main Office, 1720 South Livernois, Rochester. On-site packet pick-up is also available on race day. The 5K offering includes professional timing, a runner bib, a T-shirt, a medal, and finish-line snacks; the family fun run includes a runner bib, a participation award, and finish-line snacks. A spectator pancake breakfast is part of the event program. Participants are asked to bring a can of food on race day to support the Neighborhood House Food Pantry.
