Event Overview
The Neighborhood Co-op Feed Your Neighbor 5K is a 5 km run and walk. The event is scheduled for Friday, April 10, 2026.
Course & Logistics
The race uses a professionally certified and timed course. It starts and finishes at Turley Park, located at Old West Main and Glenview in Carbondale, Illinois. The route goes through the residential area behind the Murdale Shopping Center.
Participation & Charity
The event supports the Good Samaritan House of Carbondale, a local organization providing food pantry services, a soup kitchen, emergency shelter, and other assistance. Participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for the pantry.
Registration costs $20 for adults and $10 for children 14 and under, with higher fees for day-of registration. All participants receive snacks and refreshments. The top overall male and female runners win $100 Co-op gift cards, and age category winners receive a loaf of bread. Every participant is also entered into a door prize drawing.
