Nebraska State Fair Marathon - Event details
The Nebraska State Fair Marathon returns for its 12th year on August 29, 2026, at the Nebraska State Fairgrounds in Grand Island, Nebraska. All races start and finish on the fairgrounds and conclude with a post-race celebration amid the fair festivities.

Course features include a community-oriented atmosphere created by the combination of the race and State Fair activities. The marathon course is certified as a Boston Qualifier. The relay format is described as a community building opportunity for teams and social participants.
Every participant receives a commemorative finisher medal and a custom event shirt. Marathon, half marathon, and relay entrants receive a gender specific long sleeve technical shirt while 5K and 1 mile participants receive a soft short sleeve shirt. Additional inclusions are admission to the Nebraska State Fair, post-race snacks and beverages, and one free alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage for participants aged 21 or older at bars across the grounds.
Free parking for athletes and spectators is available in the northwest parking lot off State Fair Boulevard. Spectator tickets are required to view the race start and finish and are available in advance; a password is provided in the participant confirmation email after registration.
