12th Annual Running Event in Grand Island
The Nebraska State Fair Marathon takes place on the Nebraska State Fairgrounds in Grand Island, Nebraska. Held during the annual state fair, this event provides participants with a race day experience set against the backdrop of fair festivities. All scheduled routes start and finish directly on the fairgrounds, and the full marathon is a certified Boston Qualifier.
Participants can choose from a wide range of categories catering to different ages and movement types:
- Marathon (26.2 miles)
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Marathon Relay (Teams of 4 people)
- 5K
- 1-Mile Kids Run
- Push Rim Wheelchair
- Handcycle
The marathon course remains open for a duration of 6 hours. Registration includes several race amenities such as a commemorative finisher's medal, a custom event shirt, and admission to the Nebraska State Fair. Additionally, runners receive post-race snacks and beverages on the grounds.
Free parking for participants and spectators is available in the Northwest parking lot off State Fair Blvd. From the parking area, access to the events is gained through the Main Gate.
