Navajo Code Talker 10K
The Navajo Code Talker 10K is scheduled for Sunday, September 13, 2026, in Window Rock, Arizona, with the Navajo Nation Museum and Navajo Zoo serving as event locations. The event offers multiple distances:
- 10K (6.2 miles)
- 2 mile non competitive option
Online registration opens on May 17. The base registration fee is $35 and increases to $40 on September 1. Registration includes an event t shirt, a finisher medal, a race bib, post race snacks, and a choice of posters from the Navajo Code Talker Poster Series.
The main course is a 6.2 mile loop that departs from the museum area, circles the museum, follows the Museum Trail to the WR Dam, continues onto the Fish & Wildlife trail system, passes the historic tribal government complex and returns via WR Park to the museum. Organizers and tribal officials may make slight course variations.
There are three aid stations on course. The first station, just past mile 1 near the dam, will offer fluids only. The second and third stations will offer fluids, fruits, and gels. Pre race breakfast bars and bananas and fluids will be available at the start line. This is a cupless event so participants should plan for personal hydration.
Timing is provided by Rocky Mountain Timing. Overall and age group awards will be presented for the 10K and all finishers receive a medal. Lodging options are available in Window Rock and Gallup. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
