Narbona Pass Classic

The Narbona Pass Classic takes place in the Chuska Mountains of New Mexico. The event is held at an elevation of 9,000 feet, featuring high pines and forested terrain. Participants can expect average mid-day temperatures around 70 degrees within this mountain environment.

The event offers two main race distances:

  • 10 km (6.2 miles)
  • 5 km (3.1 miles) run or walk

The races are capped at 400 participants for each distance. Registration is conducted exclusively online, as there is no in-person registration available at packet pick-up or on the day of the event. Packet pick-up is organized at multiple locations prior to the race, including Farmington and Gallup, as well as at the Narbona Pass picnic grounds.

The courses traverse difficult forested terrain. Upon finishing, all participants receive a medal. Water and refreshments, such as watermelon and granola bars, are provided in the post-race area. Awards are presented to overall winners and age-group winners for both the 5 km and 10 km events, with results posted following the completion of the races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
