Nature Coast 100k : Event overview
The Nature Coast 100k is a multi-distance trail event held in Chiefland, Florida, using the paved Nature Coast State Trail. Distances offered include:
- 100K
- 50K
- 50K Ruck
Start and finish are at the College of Central Florida – Jack Wilkinson Levy Campus, where free on-site parking is available. Bib pickup is provided the evening before and on race morning at the same campus.
The course follows historic railroad corridors and passes through rural communities including Trenton, Cross City, and Fanning Springs. Multiple fully stocked aid stations and a central aid hub are available along the route; stations provide water, electrolyte drink, snacks, basic first aid, and restrooms at select locations. Participants are advised to carry hydration between aid stations. All participants have 24 hours to complete their event.
Pacers are permitted later on race day; pacers must check in with race staff, may enter and leave the course only at designated aid stations, may provide encouragement and safety support, and may not carry a runner’s required equipment or interfere with other participants.
The ruck division requires a minimum dry weight carried throughout the event: 20 pounds for women, 20 pounds for men under 150 lbs, and 30 pounds for men over 150 lbs. Dry weight excludes consumables and may be verified at check-in or during the race.
Race rules require staying on the designated course, obeying volunteer instructions and road crossings, using high visibility gear from dusk to dawn, and following park rules. The event does not offer refunds; a rollover credit policy applies on a sliding scale based on the timing of requests. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
