About the race
The Nature Coast 100k event on December 5, 2026 takes place in Chiefland, Florida and includes three distances held on the paved Nature Coast State Trail. The race uses the College of Central Florida – Jack Wilkinson Levy Campus at 15390 NW US Highway 19, Chiefland, FL as the start/finish location and offers free on-site parking. The course follows a paved rail-trail corridor through rural communities including Chiefland, Trenton, Cross City, and Fanning Springs. The route passes historic railroad corridors, river views, oak hammocks, pine forests, and wetlands in the Suwannee River region.
Wildlife in the area can include deer, wild turkey, gopher tortoises, hawks, and Gulf sturgeon. Multiple fully stocked aid stations and a central aid hub are available, providing water, electrolyte drink, snacks, basic first aid, and restrooms at select locations. Participants are asked to carry hydration between aid stations. All participants have 24 hours to complete their event.
Pacers are permitted after midday and must check in with race staff, use only designated aid stations to enter or leave the course, and may not carry a runner’s required equipment or interfere with other participants. The ruck division requires a minimum dry pack weight by category, continuous carrying of the pack, and verification of weight. The event has no refunds; rollover credit is available on a sliding scale based on how far in advance the process is completed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
