National Sweetest Day Run

The National Sweetest Day event takes place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, in Nashotah Park, Wisconsin. This multisport gathering features a variety of distances held on a scenic trail course surrounded by nature. The trails are primarily well-groomed and wood-chipped, with small sections of maintained grass. Approximately 60% of the route is shaded by trees.

Participants can choose from several event categories:

  • Half Marathon - 13.03 miles (two outside laps and one inside lap)
  • 10K - 6.42 miles (two inside laps)
  • 5K Run / Walk / Ruck - 3.21 miles (one inside lap)
  • 10K Ruck - 6.42 miles (two inside laps)
  • Kiddos 1K - Open to ages 12 and under (requires a registered parent)

The course is marked with three-foot-tall signs, turn arrows, and cones. One aid station is available on the course, which participants pass twice per lap, providing water and sports drinks. A primary bag drop is located west of the start line, with additional areas near the parking lot.

The event offers gender-specific dry-wick shirts for those registered by the early October deadline. All participants receive a finisher "woodle," a custom magnet keepsake. Overall awards and age group awards are available for timed running events, while walking and rucking divisions are timed but non-competitive. A post-race fruit bar featuring fresh fruit and recovery drinks such as pickle juice and lemon water is provided for all finishers.
